If i start it when temperature inside is 75, it will maintain it at 75 but if i start it when it's 80, it will maintain at 80 etc.. It cannot bring the temperature down. So you have to start it early in the morning. Today outside temp was close to 100 (38 C) and it maintained it in here at 80 (27).
It sits outside on the patio on a custom stand but you can use anything to raise it at the level of the screen frame (foam from unpacking a TV or a monitor, books, name it). This way it vibrates less the door frame and the walls. Then a plastic foil taped on top of the screen, pool spaghetti to seal the space between the open door and the plastic sheet. The plastic foil at the bottom is wrapped around a piece of aluminum, to keep it straight and near the screen.
I glued some carboard (corrugated plastic) around the end of the unit that faces the screen, to reduce exchange with outside air (last picture).
Then the separation part. It works much better if you direct the cold flow that comes fast from the narrow upper vent of the unit upward in the room, towards the ceiling, again, using some cardboard taped on a chair. But if you have holes in the ceiling it will blow more insulation dust...

Yeah i know should have cleaned it before i took the pictures but this is an emergency.
Door can be closed at night, and at the end of the season all is reversible, just untape the plastic sheet from the frame of the screen.
This is the door i use to go outside to check for poops or smoke and of course there's dirt outside and i bring it on the shoes, i cleaned it many times, i got scheduled a carpet cleaning this week with the high temperatures and stuff it will dry fast. Then with the AC in place i won't use that door so much.
Mine is a bit different but i guarantee it works as well as a professional cleaning. The proof is in the brown mud that comes out and then it does not the second or third time but there's a learning curve.
Need to clean often or every time you refill and empty the reservoirs the clear suction part with a piece of wire or something.
Yeah this flash of my little Kodak has a mind of its own so in the last picture i put a finger over it cause it was too strong and the picture came red.

9:55 A strong chocking smell of smoke made it shut it down last night. This morning it came again forcing me to shut the kitchen window.
10:40 Chocking smoke is still present, can't find the cause.
11:05 Got coffee? As i said i feel in love with Keurig at hotels. One knock on the door and a smiling maid would give you a handful of cups every morning. Decaf! Decaf! (i was telling to the cute maid). Though i don't have one as of right now (budget issues) i open the cup and pour the content in my espresso machine. One thing i like... It is measured, optimized, etc.. Second, it is always fresh.
So last night i went following Angela's ideas. Smallest price per count. 80 ct., 34 bucks. And today it came. However it is funny they way they packed it. Wondering if they use little robots to count and pack those or they just go by weight. LOL.
11:20 Ok i made some, not bad for a decaf. I let it pour to about 100 ml. Was thinking at the sizes of coffee in Italy (the guys who invented espresso). A 50 ml cup is lungo (long). They have a bigger one called Americano LOL. What they probably don't know is a cup of American coffee is 240 ml or more. Have you ever tried a ristretto? 20 ml of pure liquid coffee. One of those and you feel the taste of coffee in you mouth for hours.
Yeah in Italy back then would see everywhere people with their cassette players in their (right) hands. Way before the Romanian invasion of Italy.
Diluted in hot water. Cause if you let it pour from the espresso machine too much it becomes bitter.
4:55 The boat is gone but the poor kids came in the back while i was building the salad with what Angela brought from the garden (no, tomatoes and cucumbers not yet, it will be a month or so).
